How to maximize your EQ and start finding your dream job!

Wait, I am not a computer, so what do you mean with a reboot? The most complex and advanced computer in the world is your brain. Many people don’t use their full brain potential for several reasons. One of them is we tend to think with our emotions instead of with reason and logic. The information we process first goes through the limbic part of the brain, where all the emotions are processed before it goes to your rational part of the brain.

What has this to do with job hunting? Everything!

Here are three ways to start and take control of your emotions and shift your mindset into the direction of your success!

What is your blueprint for money

Most of us grew up with negative emotions when it comes to earning money.

“Money is difficult, I have to work very hard for money!”

“Money doesn’t grow on trees!”

“I will only be happy and feel fulfilled when I have enough money!”.

If any of these statements resonate with you, I recommend you read New York’s Best-Selling book, “Rich Dad-Poor Dad.” The text is full of processes and mindset hacks to change your belief and, thus, your emotions related to money.

Energy flows where attention goes.

Emotion means energy and motion. Thus, if you feel a negative emotion, you are sending negative energy along with your negative thought. If you want the job of your dreams, the position which will give you stability and security, freedom, expansion, and growth, but you keep sabotaging it with negative thinking, then chances are you are not going to get far in your job hunt. Another book that will help you understand the power of thoughts is the best-selling book from leading scientist Dr. Bruce Lipton, The Biology of Belief.

If you knew that every negative thought is draining you of your energy, you would stop thinking negative thoughts! At least you would try to become deliberate about it. You can learn to practice healthy and positive thinking patterns. This is called learned optimism, deliberately choosing to see beyond your current reality and using your imagination with positive emotions to think about your future situation.

You can’t control the external environment or people. The only thing you control is how you feel inside. Practice feeling more positive emotions than negative emotions. Practice choosing those thoughts that you believe and those thoughts which make you feel good.

Explore, Accept and Embrace your worthiness

Before you embark on any job-seeking journey, stop and reflect on how you perceive yourself. Ask yourself these questions:

Do you feel worthy of a job where you feel fulfilled, valued, appreciated, and engaged?

Do you feel worthy of feeling good while working?

Do you feel worthy of making a difference in your life and the life of others?

Do you feel worthy of earning more money than you believe you deserve?

If you answered no to any of these questions, then it is a start to work on exploring your self-worth.

Accept and embrace that you are whole, complete, and enough by birthright.

Love and like yourself in light of both your strengths and weaknesses and use your energy to build yourself up.
